Margarita Polokainen

Margarita Polokainen, Tallinn, Estonia (summer 2011)

My boyfriend and I are in Slovenia for the first time. We decided to come because Slovenia is known for being clean, with unspoilt countryside and friendly towns. We came by car two weeks ago. Among other places, we’ve been to Postojna Caves and Triglav National Park. In Ljubljana we’ve focused on getting to know your traditional food, as I’m going to study to be a chef in the future so I’m interested in foreign cuisine. We’re keen on ‘prekmurska gibanica’, apple strudel, cheese burek, goulash and ‘Idrija žlikrofi’. We’re staying at hostels or campsites. The prices are about the same here as at home. People are very friendly, we really like the sunshine as it’s not so beautifully bright in Tallinn. We also really like your graffiti in Ljubljana, which is in harmony with the environment. We also like the architecture, above all old and new – they fall together nicely. I’ve bought some dried fruit as a souvenir. I have to find a nice necklace for my daughter.
