The opening took place in an appropriately historical style … ‘Dr France Prešern’ (the famous Slovene poet) ordered some red from the waitress, recited a few of his verses and called upon the Mayor of Ljubljana to “Let it be, for heaven’s sake, that the doors of this shrine are thrown open”. -
Which Mayor Zoran Janković and Training Centre Director Valerija Bužan were happy to do. -

Given the historical importance of the location, the opening could not take place without the favourite Slovenian dish of fried potatoes. Friar Bojan heated up a huge pan and served up two fried portions. -
The Second Fiddle inn on Stari trg will also have staff with special needs.
Thus once again Ljubljana’s Stari trg will be full of the aroma of frying potatoes and other traditional Slovenian dishes, which will be brought to the table by young people with special needs from the Dolfka Boštjančič Training, Occupation and Care Centre.
Valerija Bužan, Director of the Training Centre, came up with the idea of such an inn abroad where projects like this are not uncommon. The rent for the restaurant space on Stari trg is for now being paid by long-term sponsor of the Training Centre, the Sunshine House charity.
The Second Fiddle inn on Stari trg was opened on Thursday 28 June 2012 by Mayor Zoran Janković and the Director of the Dolfka Boštjančič Training, Occupation and Care Centre Valerija Bužan.
