In 2016, the Point.For You. – the information office of Ljubljana, European Green Capital 2016, was set up on City Square in front of the City Hall. During the whole year it was running a free-of-charge programme for visitors informing them about Ljubljana’s environmental achievements, the European Green Capital project, educating them about the environment, raising awareness among them and often encouraging their active participation.

Among other things numerous workshops for children were held at the Point.For you. where they could create useful items from waste material. For instance, the social company BOLJE demonstrated how to make a scented candle out of waste edible oil.

The public waste management company Snaga and non-governmental organisations set up item exchanges promoting reuse – and so we traded toys, clothes, magazines and even »lame« presents.

We collected old drapes and with the assistance of seamstresses from the Reuse Centre taught visitors how to sew useful vegetable and fruit bags out of old drapes. And under the watchful eyes of teachers children also learned about reuse by transforming their old shirts into bags for school slippers.

We joined a very special campaign #PCseVrača! organised by the social company Zavod TIP&TAP. At the office Point.For you. and three Snaga’s locations we collected used computers the TIP&TAP company then cleaned, restored and again put on the store shelves. In the one-month long campaign 110 used computers were collected at different locations across Slovenia.

We also hosted an exhibition of lamps and frames created by artist Javor Škerlj Vogelnik from driftwood and recycled wood.

Avantcar presented the new system for vehicle sharing in Ljubljana – the electric carsharing model Avant2Go, using exclusively 100% electrically powered vehicles.

At the end of the project, we moved the information point to Podutik bike park. This is intended for all lovers of mountain biking – from beginners to experienced cyclists. It also serves as an excellent starting point for cycling excursions to Klobuk, Toško čelo, Katarina and the entire Polhov Gradec Hills.
