Mayor of Ljubljana Zoran Janković welcomed Dr Heinz Fischer, President of the Austrian Republic, to City Hall on Wednesday 20 April 2011.

The reception in the Green Hall at Ljubljana City Hall was also attended by Aleš Čerin, Deputy Mayor of the City of Ljubljana, Vasja Butina, Director of the City Administration and Mitja Meršol, member of the City Council's Commission for International Relations.

During his visit to City Hall the VIP Austrian guest also signed the City of Ljubljana's Golden Book and accepted a gift from the Mayor – a crystal plate of architect Jože Plečnik.
Following the reception at City Hall the Mayor and Austrian President took a short walk around Ljubljana city centre.

On 19 and 20 April Austrian President Dr Heinz Fischer and his wife Margit Fischer were on an official visit to Slovenia at the invitation of President of Slovenia Dr Danilo Türk during which they met Prime Minister Borut Pahor, Speaker of Parliament Dr Pavel Gantar and former President of Slovenia Milan Kučan.
