During the year when Ljubljana held the title European Green Capital 2016, the Best Apartment Building in Ljubljana campaign was conducted. The apartment building on Topniška 45 was announced as the first winner.

The aim of the campaign was to motivate residents in multi-family residential buildings to contribute to the best of their ability to their building’s image of clean, well-managed and environment-friendly co-living.
On 22 March 2017, Mayor Zoran Janković announced the wining apartment building and presented its representatives with a plaque, a flag and 20 Ljubljana Rose plants.
The Best Apartment Building in Ljubljana campaign, launched at the initiative of a citizen, shall continue in future, namely, we want to foster awareness that Ljubljana as the European Green Capital 2016 constantly strives towards green activities in all areas.
The District Communities participated in the campaign by nominating multi-family residential buildings in their environment, and among 16 finalists a working group using predetermined criteria chose the winning apartment building.
