Children welcome to the renovated playground in Park Tivoli
We have comprehensively renovated the children's playground in Park Tivoli, which is located in the middle of the Tivoli, Rožnik and Šiška Hill Landscape Park. We have installed thoughtfully selected, modern and high-quality playground equipment, with which we can ensure even more fun, but at the same time, safety for children playing.
Among the new varied pieces of playground equipment, there are also a few water elements, we kept several types of playground equipment that have proved to be especially popular so far, we added many others, and there are many pieces of playground equipment that are adapted to children with disabilities. As part of the landscaping of the surroundings, we planted 23 new trees and set up new benches, waste bins and a drinking fountain.
The layout of the children's playground preserves all previously designed reliefs and follows the design idea of the original layout from the nineties when the playground was last comprehensively renovated. The playground equipment on it was regularly maintained, but it was worn out over the years, so the children's playground needed to be renewed.
We replaced the existing pieces of equipment with new, more suitable ones, except for the green carousel, which we kept. We renovated four old pieces of equipment and installed them in other children's playgrounds around Ljubljana, as we encourage the reuse of equipment in line with the principle of circular economy.
Fun for children of all ages
Children of all ages will be able to have fun on the playground. In the north and south of the playground, there is an area with equipment for the youngest children, where there is also space for their parents and caretakers. We preserved the large hill in the middle of the playground, and on it, there is a high playground structure made up of two small houses and a bridge, providing a nice view of the surroundings. All around, a diverse array of playground equipment has been installed, with pieces for climbing, jumping, spinning, swinging and sliding, which is intended for somewhat older children.
The new water playground
A special feature of the playground is the new water playground equipment on a paved hill, from which water flows in two meandering channels along a sandpit. Water also flows over a rock with a dragon carved into it. Along with the greenery, water features were also included in the playground with the aim of mitigating the effects of climate change. With it, the entire area will gain additional content. These types of playground equipment introduce a different way of using the space, offer the possibility of long, immersed playing, and contribute to providing refreshment on hot summer days.
This is one of the largest investments in children's playgrounds, worth almost 900,000 EUR, excluding VAT. The works were carried out in approximately four months by the company Lesnina MG oprema, podjetje za inženirje, d.d..
