As part of the festive December, many musical performances will take place in Ljubljana's squares. The program in Congress Square, Town Square, New Square and the French Revolution Square will start on 16 December 2022, while the music program has already started in Pogačar Square.

Program in New Square

On Friday, 16 December, the music program begins in New Square and continues until 25 December, except on Christmas Eve. Local performers of various musical genres will line up. The concerts will be held between 19:00 and 21:00 and on 17 December between 18:00 and 21:00.

Christmas concert in front of the City Hall

On Saturday, 24 December, at 17:00, there will be a traditional Christmas concert in front of the City Hall, which every year conjures up a special atmosphere in the heart of festively decorated Ljubljana. Visitors will listen to gospel and Christmas carols performed by Nuška Drašček and the Primož Grašič Quartet.

Pogačar Square

On Pogačar Square, the music program started already on 25 November with the performance of Challe Salle and Neža Kirn. Performers of popular and folk music will perform up to 31 December.

On Monday, 26 December, the music program will begin in Congress Square. It will continue until 1 January 2023, including New Year's Eve. The concert events will start every day at 19:00.

New Year's Eve in four venues

Children are traditionally the first to enter the New Year. From 16:00, they will be entertained by their favorite fairy-tale heroes, children's performances and the arrival of Father Frost on the Congress Square. They will symbolically enter the new year at 17:00.

New Year's Eve celebrations will begin at 21:00 in four squares in Ljubljana. The main New Year's Eve celebration on Congress Square is intended for the broadest range of visitors. Samuel Lucas, Maraaya and Miran Rudan inDesign will perform.
New Year's Eve on the Town Square will be marked by Slovenian musical divas Alenka Godec, Helena Blagne and Nuša Derenda.
Pop Design will perform at the New Year's Eve party in Pogačar Square.
At the New Year's Eve party on the French Revolution Square, the following performers will line up: Lim Smrad and Žila, Klemen Klemen, Happy Ol'McWeasel and Within Destruction.
At midnight, if the weather is clear, the sky over Ljubljana will be lit by fireworks from biodegradable rockets from the Ljubljana Castle. In fog, increased cloudiness or strong wind, audible fireworks and low-flying rockets will be used.
