‘Fashion’ photographic exhibition
At 8pm on Thursday 1 March 2012 a photographic exhibition by Christopher Morris opens in City Hall’s Right Atrium as part of the Slovenia Press Photo 2012 festival of documentary photography.
In the last two decades, Christopher Morris, a founding member of the VII Agency, has devoted the majority of his work to photographing wars, documenting over 18 conflicts abroad, among others the US invasions of Panama and Iraq, the Gulf War, cocaine wars in Colombia as well as wars in Afghanistan, Chechnya, Somalia and Yugoslavia. In recent years he has also documented President George W. Bush’s term in office for Time magazine.
He has won numerous awards for his work, including the Robert Cape gold medal and the Olivier Rebbot Award, given to international journalists by the Overseas Press Club of America. He has also been a recipient of the Visa d`Or award and numerous World Press Photo awards.
He currently contributes fashion photography, global reportage and portrait work to the Italian fashion magazine AMICA. He has run campaigns for various fashions brands including Roberto Cavalli, Louis Vuitton, Dolce&Gabbana, Dior, Chanel and Prada.
The exhibition, which runs until Saturday 31 March 2012, also features the author’s fashion video recordings in addition to his photography.
