The football match between the national teams of Slovenia and Australia will be the first event held at Ljubljana's new Stožice Football Stadium, which can accommodate up to 16.800 spectators.

The match is being on Wednesday 11 August 2010 at 8.45 pm in the Nogometni stadion Stožice (Stožice Football Stadium).

The Slovenia national football team have recently moved six places up the FIFA world rankings from 25th to 19th, which is their greatest achievement since Slovenia gained independence in 1991.

The Australia national team were the winners of Group D at this year's World Cup Football Championship in South Africa. They currently hold 20th position in the FIFA world rankings.
