Groups drawn for the first part of the European Handball Championship

The group draw for the first part of the European Women's Handball Championship, which will be held between 4 and 20 November in Slovenia, North Macedonia and Montenegro, took place at the Ljubljana Castle.

In addition to the introductory part of the championship, the final fights and the grand finale will take place in the Stožice Hall. Slovenia will play in group B in Celje against Sweden, Serbia and Denmark, while Northern Macedonia will host group C in Skopje, playing the Netherlands, Romania and France. Montenegro will play in group D in Podgorica against Germany, Spain and Poland, while Hungary will play in group A in Ljubljana against Croatia, Switzerland and Norway.

Countdown to the start of the championship

We have set up a countdown timer on the New Square, which is counting down the time until the start of the European Championship. As the organizers of this year's event are placing a strong emphasis on the empowerment and equality of women and the promotion of their role in our society, we have also set up the first pedestrian traffic lights with female figures in Ljubljana. These are erected at four intersections near the Stožice Centre: at the intersection of the street Dunajska cesta and the city ring road, the streets Vojkova cesta and Gosarjeva cesta, the streets Vojkova cesta and Baragova cesta, and at the intersection of the street Vojkova cesta and the city ring road.
