Ljubljana is once again the best e-mobility city in Slovenia

Within the framework of the 4th conference on e-mobility in municipalities, which took place in Brdo pri Kranju, Ljubljana was declared the best e-mobility city in Slovenia.

We won based on the combined total of the grades given by an expert committee and the votes cast in an online survey. This is the second victory for Ljubljana since 2020, which confirms that we continue to be the most active urban municipality in the field of electromobility.

In the City of Ljubljana, we follow the fundamental aim of sustainable urban mobility, which means that we want to replace the current transport system with more energy-efficient, environmentally harmless, less spatially wasteful and healthier forms of transport in the city and the Central Slovenia region.

Already in 2013, we adopted the Electromobility Strategy in the City of Ljubljana, and within the framework of the European Green Capital 2016 project, we presented a new vehicle sharing system – the Avant2Go car sharing model, which uses exclusively electric vehicles. Citizens have access to Kavalir electric vehicles for free-of-charge use in the city center, which is closed to motor traffic, in the Žale Cemetery and as part of the European project TRIBUTE in the entire area of the University Medical Center Ljubljana and the Institute of Oncology Ljubljana. Citizens and visitors to Ljubljana can also take the electric tourist train Urban. Charging stations for electric vehicles are set up in public areas, and among the company vehicles of the city administration and public companies of the City of Ljubljana, in addition to other environmentally friendly vehicles, we also use electric vehicles.
