The 10th regular annual meeting of the Rainbow Cities Network took place in Rotterdam on 3 and 4 November.

The goal of the network, which currently includes 42 cities, is primarily the exchange of good practices and experiences in the LGBT+ field. At the meeting, we exchanged news from individual cities and shared good practices. We presented the Legebitra Youth Center, which is the only LGBT+ youth center in Slovenia.

Encouraging local communities

Cities also participate in the European project Rainbow Cities in Action – LGBTI Policy Guidelines, where we prepare guidelines for cities that do not yet have an LGBT+ policy. With the guidelines, we want to encourage local communities that are not yet active in this area. The mayor of Rotterdam, Ahmed Aboutaleb, also addressed us at the meeting, and we also attended the opening of this year's rainbow cities exhibition on the theme of LGBT+ migrants.
