MIPIM 2016
Again this year the City of Ljubljana is represented at MIPIM in Cannes, the largest property show in Europe, held from 15 to 18 March 2016.
MIPIM is the largest international investment and property hub, where the latest property trends and key global investment projects are showcased to the most influential property decision-makers and investors from around the world.
For the City of Ljubljana this is an opportunity to present to potential investors the investment environment of the Slovenian capital and actual investment projects in Ljubljana.
The presentation of the City of Ljubljana is marked by the title European Green Capital 2016 and is focused on three successful projects:
- self-service bike rental system Bicikelj, which is extremely popular among residents and visitors, with currently over 25,000 active users and 2.2 million rentals recorded;
- Kavalir electric vehicles, with which years ago the City of Ljubljana and the public transport company LPP started introducing electromobility into public transport, especially in the city centre which is closed to motor traffic. There are currently 4 Kavalirs in the city centre and will be shortly joined by an electric train with a circular route connecting main city attractions;
- waste management: Ljubljana is the first European capital to join the Zero Waste Network and last year it opened the Regional Waste Management Centre RCERO Ljubljana, the biggest cohesion project in the environmental field in the country, where waste from approximately one third of Slovenian residents is processed.
The MIPIM show with an exhibition area of 40,000 m2 hosts 2,000 exhibitors from 80 countries and attracts 52,000 visitors and 4,300 investors.
