On Thursday, 27 July 2017, the renovation of the children’s playground in Kodeljevo park has started.

Within the scope of the renovation new top quality playground equipment for children and park furniture is going to be set up in the big city playground located in the former castle park.

The playground is appropriate for children of different ages and capabilities, and so the equipment is going to be logically arranged according to age groups with a gradual transition of the layout from the youngest to bigger children. The functionality of the playground equipment is going to be very diverse: from developing motor skills, balance, speed, risk-taking, playful competitiveness and overcoming height differences to promoting imagination and role-playing, creativity, sociability and contact with nature.

The playground is going to accommodate people with disabilities – specially adapted playground equipment is going to be set up and other equipment is going to be partially available to them, fences are going to be erected, the incline of ramps adjusted, and a sign for the blind and partially sighted provided.

The contractual value of the investment is 540,000 euro with VAT, the contractor is KPL d.o.o. and the renovation work is expected to take 120 days.
