Renovated Črnuče Pond

With the renovation of the Črnuče Pond we have gained a new green surface for quality spending of free time and restored yet another brownfield site.

Within the scope of the renovation we have planted indigenous plant species and introduced new fish species. We have spruced up the surroundings by constructing a wooden footbridge over the upper pond, creating a circular path around both ponds, a wooden platform and a waterside path along the lower pond, enabling closer contact with water and ecological balance monitoring.

We have levelled the existing dirt path and covered it with granite paving, which is sturdy and easy to maintain.

Next to the pond we have set up benches, waste bins and bicycle racks. We have also planted trees, which will provide more shade over the benches, and we have set up a learning path comprised of interactive elements with which we promote additional activities in the vicinity of the pond (exercising, observing, learning, creating…).
