The Beavers are coming!

For the fourteenth consecutive year, the Festival of Culture and Art Education Beavers is held in Ljubljana.

The Beavers program, as always, revolves around a chosen theme; this year, it is storytelling and illustration that intertwine and complement each other. We will not only present the audience with new, innovative art forms of telling and depicting the real and imaginary world, our thoughts, emotions and ideas, but we will also encourage active listening and observation of the surroundings.

The program again includes theatre, film, music and dance performances, guided tours of exhibitions, workshops and other activities for children and the youth produced and organized by many governmental and non-governmental institutions and individuals who work in the field of culture and art education in Ljubljana and beyond.

At this year's festival, forty-two producers will prepare one hundred and twenty events that thousands of visitors can attend. They are held in thirty-five venues.

Guests from abroad

The program is again enriched by the creations of guests from other countries, this time from Austria, Croatia and Hungary. In the Dance Theatre Ljubljana, you can see the interactive dance theatre play Ocean from Vienna (supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum Ljubljana) and the Croatian movement show for babies Ninabu (supported by many Croatian producers). The Španski borci Culture Centre is hosting a circus-dance show from Hungary Ramazuri (supported by the Liszt Institute – Hungarian Cultural Centre Ljubljana). Thanks to the French Institute in Slovenia, we can watch the animated film House of Fairy Tales, screened at the Slovenian Cinematheque.
