On Friday, 5 April 2019, the funicular welcomed the four millionth passenger, member of the Holden family from Great Britain.

The funicular to the Ljubljana Castle, in operation since the end of 2006, transported the millionth passenger at the end of 2010, the two millionth on 15 August 2014, the three millionth on 12 May 2017 and the four millionth on 5 April 2019, when shortly after 12 o’clock the Holden family from Great Britain arrived to the bottom funicular stop.

And so, data shows that we are going to reach each next million mark in a shorter time span. The number of transferred passengers on the funicular is increasing this year, as well, namely, by the end of March we have recorded a 16.8 percent rise in the number of passengers in comparison to the previous year.

We congratulated the four millionth passenger, presented him with a gift on behalf of the Ljubljana Castle and together with our castle partners invited him to enjoy the culinary delights at the Restaurant Na Gradu.
