The Japanese Ambassador on a tour of the Ljubljana countryside

On Tuesday, 5 July 2022, we showed the Ljubljana countryside to the Ambassador of Japan, Hiromichi Matsushima, including the Bee Path and its transpositions to other European cities within the framework of European projects BeePathNet and BeePathNet-Reload.

The Ambassador and his team saw the milk production at the farm Pr ´Kodran, where they produce 400,000 l of milk annually and cultivate 30 ha of agricultural land. On the farm, they are trailblazers in cultivation and livestock breeding technologies. The tour continued at the organic farm Pr ´Konc, in an organic berry field, and he also visited the University Botanic Gardens Ljubljana, which has an important role in the cultivation and protection of endemic and endangered species in our territory. The Botanic Gardens are also part of the Bee Path in Ljubljana, managing an educational apiary.

Bee Path

The Bee Path was created in 2016 within the framework of the program Ljubljana – European Green Capital 2016. At first, it was only intended as a route between individual locations related to beekeeping and bees in Ljubljana, but today it is synonymous with all activities related to bees and beekeeping in Ljubljana.
