The Man, take care of your city campaign continues

The socially responsible campaign Man, take care of your city is continuing its different activities in autumn stressing the significance of respect for our common public space. With a poster campaign we are reacting to prohibited graffiti and with activities in the filed we are raising awareness on the importance of picking up dog waste.

Graffiti allowed only on designated surfaces

One of the more disruptive factors in orderly city areas are also graffiti, more precisely scrawling on facades we see although the City of Ljubljana has 17 public locations where drawing graffiti is allowed. We have removed graffiti from over 17,000 m2 of surfaces and spent over 200,000 EUR on the clean-up.

Locations where drawing graffiti is permitted

  • Šiška – the subway under Celovška cesta, near Šiška Cinema,
  • Vič/Dolgi most – the concrete pillars of the motorway bridge at the last stop on bus route 6,
  • Bežigrad – the underpass under the railway line on Drenikova,
  • Moste – the underpass under the railway line on Kajuhova,
  • Center – the Trnovski pristan, the concrete wall along the footpath,
  • Center – the Trnovo primary school, the wall by the car park,
  • Šentvid – the underpass in front of the Šentvid tunnel,

Raising awareness among dog owners at two locations

City of Ljubljana inspectors and employees of the Landscape Park Tivoli, Rožnik and Šiška Hill launched a campaign of raising awareness among dog owners in the area of Tivoli and Koseze Pond. The reactions so far were very positive as everyone was happy to receive free dog waste bags.

Man, take care of your city

Already in 2015, the City of Ljubljana launched the socially responsible campaign »Man, take care of your city« calling attention to the unacceptability of vandalism and stressing the significance of respect for our common public space.
