To ig and podpeč with lpp

From the end of August, Ljubljana Passenger Transport (LPP) buses are also running to Ig and Podpeč.

As from Monday 29 August, the extension of LPP bus route 19, called 19 I (Tomačevo – Ig) connects Ig with Ljubljana, and residents of the Ig local authority area and surroundings are ensured cheap travel into the Slovenian capital. The new LPP route is a welcome novelty as it will help to reduce the number of vehicles being used to commute into Ljubljana.

Extended route 19 I provides passengers from Ig to Ljubljana cheaper travel, an increase in the number of departures in peak periods, and the Urbana card is a uniform access pass to travel and inclusion in the entire LPP public transport network.

LPP would like the extended route 19 I to give people living around Ig quicker and cheaper travel into the city, such as those in Iška vas, Strahomer, Vrbljene, Tomišelj, Brest, Matena, Iška loka, Dobravica, Podgozd, Škrilje, Golo, Hrastje pri Golem, Kurešček, Zapotok, Osredek pri Robu and Rob, which are linked by Bus d.o.o. inter-district routes.

Until now, the full price of a monthly bus pass from Ig to Ljubljana was €82.80 and €72.45 for those in education with a one-way ticket costing €2.30. From now on, travellers from and around Ig will pay, with their periodic Urbana card, the regular city public transport price: €17 for those in education and €34 for general bus travellers.

With an Urbana card, passengers can travel on route 19 I for €0.80 within the City of Ljubljana and to the end of route 19 I in Ig or 19 B at Jezero in Podpeč. For passengers who do not have an Urbana card and until the introduction of payment with Urbana (with system upgrade), payment for travel in the Ig area with be in cash at unchanged prices.

From Tomačevo to Barje bus stop, route 19 (from now on 19 I and 19 B) runs as up to now, while from Barje each first departure is in the direction of Ig (19 I) and each second in the direction of Jezero (19 B). Route 19 I runs every day of the year, on working days buses run at 30 to 45 minute intervals between 5.00 and 22.26, while on Saturdays and Sundays at less frequent intervals between 5.45 and 21.57.

The new bus stops for route 19 I from Ig towards Ljubljana (Tomačevo) are: Ig, AP Ig, Petrol Ig, Havptmanca and Pri Maranzu.

From Barje bus stop onwards, route 19 (19 I and 19 B) runs partly as of old and partly with changes. The route of line 19 (19 I and 19 B) has been diverted from Hladnikova to Fabijanova and Barjanska to Ljubljana city centre, from where the line runs on its existing route to Tomačevo. The line is the same in the other direction. These changes shorten the journey time to the city centre by between 5 and 7 minutes. Travellers from Rakova Jelša can use route 9 (Trnovo – Štepanjsko naselje) for their journeys into Ljubljana city centre, for a few at Kolezija bus stop, while from now Ziherlova bus stop can be used.

From Ig bus stop to Ljubljana, route 19 I replaces Bus d.o.o. inter-district services, which terminated at Ljubljana bus station and Orlov bus stop; these two stops have been closed down with the extension of route 19 I.

The new LPP bus route brings residents of and visitors to Ljubljana closer to the possibilities for trips to and walks around Ljubljana Marshes.
