Together in the Mission for 100 climate-neutral and smart cities

Mayors of the municipalities of Ljubljana, Kranj and Velenje, Zoran Janković, Matjaž Rakovec and Peter Dermol, signed the Commitment to establish a Slovenian partnership within the Mission for 100 climate-neutral and smart cities on 9 November 2022 in the Cukrarna Gallery.

Ljubljana, Kranj and Velenje are Slovenian cities that have been selected for the Mission for 100 climate-neutral and smart cities. The Mission mentioned above is a program of the European Commission that will monitor and support selected cities in their transformation to achieve climate neutrality by 2030.
The purpose of the Mission is to accelerate the progress of Europe's most ambitious cities, which will inspire all cities in Europe on their way to climate neutrality. Participating cities will benefit from support and advice, advantages in drawing European funds, participation in innovation activities and pilot and demonstration projects, networking opportunities, exchanges of good practices and high visibility.

All three Slovenian cities that are part of the Mission 100 are aware that the transformation into a carbon-neutral city requires many changes that can only be implemented with joint efforts, which is why the mayors of the municipalities as mentioned above signed the Commitment to establish a Slovenian partnership within the Mission for 100 climate-neutral and smart cities.
