Yuji miyata in ljubljana

During his stay in Ljubljana, Yuji Miyata, a walker for peace from Japan, visited several Ljubljana primary schools, kindergartens and district youth centres.

Yuji Miyata, a walker for peace and environmentalist from Japan, recently waved goodbye to Ljubljana and went on his way towards Italy, Switzerland and France. His route, which began in Beijing, finishes in London where the summer Olympics are being held. He has travelled a total of 10,321km, got through five pairs of shoes and planted 3,032 trees. In his postgraduate studies in South Korea, Yuji got to know the activities of his Professor, Paul Coleman, a UN ambassador for peace. Professor Coleman has been walking around the world for more than 20 years and in that time has planted over 11 million trees. Yuji has joined him in walking and spreading the message of peace.

He devoted his time in Ljubljana to young people and awareness-raising on the importance of responsible attitudes to the environment, the natural world and peace. Yuji visited Livada Primary School, Danila Kumar Primary School, various Ljubljana kindergartens and young people at district youth centres, and called in at the City of Ljubljana’s Pre-School Education and Schooling Department.
