‘Open Kitchen’ in Pogačarjev trg
Friday 17 May 2013 saw the opening in Pogačarjev trg in downtown Ljubljana of ‘Odprta Kuhna’, the ‘Open Kitchen’ open-air culinary project which is to unite more than fifty of the best hospitality providers from Slovenia and abroad every Friday all the way to October.

Outstanding natural science achievements of Ljubljana's students and pupils
The student team from Ljubljana won a bronze medal and recognition at the International Olympiad of Metropolises in Moscow, and adding to the success, Domen Lisjak won a silver medal and Samo Krejan a bronze medal in physics. At the International Junior Science Olympiad in Dubai, Martin Alojz Flisar from the Maks Pečar National Hero Elementary School won a silver medal.

Painting with natural dyes from the fruits of staghorn sumac
Many invasive alien plant species are cultivated as ornamental plants. One of them is staghorn sumac, whose fruits can be processed into natural dye. Natural dyes can be used for coloring and drawing. They can be used as tempera or watercolors.

Paint the World! wins at the Climathon Ljubljana
In the hackathon Climathon Ljubljana 2021, held between 29 November and 2 December 2021, 6 groups took part, looking for ideas and solutions to encourage the residents of Ljubljana to improve waste management and co-create a zero-waste city.
