Ljubljana among most energy progressive municipalities
At the conference En.municipality & En.management 2019 the most energy progressive municipalities in Slovenia were announced. In the category of urban municipalities the City of Ljubljana was chosen as the most energy progressive.

New skateboarding park in Tivoli
At the skateboarders’ initiative we constructed a new skateboarding park on the former skating rink in Park Tivoli giving the youth another space for quality spending of free time.

New non-profit apartments in Polje
In Polje we built a residential and business complex Polje IV with 64 new non-profit apartments. There are also facilities for a library, a pharmacy and a multipurpose hall.

For the third consecutive time Ljubljana made it onto the list of the top 20 bicycle friendly cities in the world, the Copenhagenize Index. We took the 14th place.

Plečnik and the Sacred exhibition in Vatican
This summer the Vatican Museums are hosting an exhibition of the Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana Plečnik and the Sacred presenting 33 select liturgical vessels designed by Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik.

New gender equality action plan adopted
At the June meeting the City Council of the City of Ljubljana adopted the Gender Equality Action Plan in the City of Ljubljana for the period from 2019 to 2022. The document represents a continuation of our endeavours towards an inclusive society for all genders.

Ljubljana wins two first awards at the international competition Emerging Europe Awards
We received several recognitions at the award ceremony of the international competition Emerging Europe Awards 2019 in London. For the LGBT certificate we received the first award for the best equality-friendly initiative; in the category business-friendly cities we are sharing the first place with Prague in the quality of life subcategory.

Ljubljana to host Velo-city 2020 conference
Next year Ljubljana will host the Velo-city conference, the annual global cycling summit of the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF), which will take place on June 2-5, 2020.
