Approved financing for the Sugar Factory Gallery renovation project
The Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, a body managing European Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund, has issued a decision on financial support for the Sugar Factory Gallery renovation project in Ljubljana.

Application book for the title European Capital of Culture 2025 submitted
Today the Ministry of Culture received our application book for the candidacy of the City of Ljubljana with the support of 25 municipalities of the Ljubljana Urban Region for the title European Capital of Culture 2025 (ECC 2025).

Apple of Quality 2016
The Livada Primary School and the Ljubljana City Library have received the national recognition Apple of Quality 2016 with which the Centre of the Republic of Slovenia for Mobility and European Educational and Training Programmes awards the best implemented projects in European educational and training programmes.

Apple of inspiration to our "hero of the coronavirus"
Among the recipients of the Apple of Inspiration for "Heroes of the Coronavirus", which is awarded by the President of Slovenia Borut Pahor, is also an employee of the City Administration, Bojan Povše, who was in charge of the overall logistics of supplying the most vulnerable groups with lunches during the spring wave of the epidemic.

A permanent measure of the European Mobility Week: we designed special pedestrian crossings near Špica
For the 22nd consecutive year, the City of Ljubljana is participating in the European Mobility Week, the biggest international campaign for the promotion of sustainable mobility, which is held every year between 16 and 22 September.

Another successful year at the Ljubljana Castle
In 2023, Ljubljana Castle had just under 1,200,000 visitors, the railway funicular transported slightly over 540,000 passengers, 331 events and 432 wedding ceremonies took place on the castle premises throughout the year, the occupancy of the Celica Hostel was at 92 percent during the main summer months.

Another record year for Ljubljana Castle
In 2017, the Ljubljana Castle again registered a record number of visitors – there were as many as 1,373,319, and the funicular exceeded the 500,000 passengers per year mark for the first time.

Another daily record of the funicular
On Wednesday, 15 August 2018, we logged a new daily record number of passengers transported with the funicular to the Ljubljana Castle. As many as 3,670 passengers took the funicular.
