On Wednesday 23 November 2011 at Ljubljana City Library there was a presentation of a collection of writings on ‘A century of development of the Oton Župančič Library’, which has been created on the centenary of the foundation of the St James public people’s library.

Acknowledgement document of the slovenian archaeological society
On 3 December 2014 the Slovenian Archaeological Society awarded prizes, awards and acknowledgement documents for the year 2014. Jerneja Batič, a Fellow of the Department of Culture also received an acknowledgement document for successful coordination of the Ljubljana Archaeological Parks renovation project and for the coordination of the Emona 2000 project.

Additional commitment to the transition to circular economy
We have joined a group of signatories of the European Circular Cities Declaration. By doing so we have additionally committed ourselves to the transition from linear to circular economy and creating with resources of an efficient, low-carbon and socially responsible society in which the use of resources is separated from the economic growth.

Admission-free cultural heritage tours at the Žale cemetery
During Heritage Days of European Cemeteries organized by the international Association of Significant Cemeteries of Europe the Žale cemetery is offering admission-free tours of the cultural heritage at the cemetery between 28 May and 2 June 2018.

In cooperation with the public company Ljubljanska parkirišča in tržnice d.o.o. we are bringing life to the Špica port by organising six admission-free evening yoga classes.

Adopted Cultural Cooperation Agreement with the City of Chemnitz
On 11 November 2019, Mayor Zoran Janković signed a Cooperation Agreement in the field of culture with the City of Chemnitz. With it both cities expressed their support of the candidacy for the title European Capital of Culture 2025.

Adventures during the eurobasket 2013 tournament
During the EuroBasket 2013 tournament, hosted by Ljubljana in September, there are to be some special adventure-flavoured trip programmes around Ljubljana that are not normally available from the Ljubljana Tourism public institute.
