Again this year, we celebrated Ljubljana City Holiday and Peace Day with a gala session of the City Council of the City of Ljubljana, at which we presented the city's highest recognitions and the titles of Honorary Citizen of Ljubljana.

Honorary Citizen Milena Zupančič

The exceptional Milena Zupančič is an elite artist who has left her mark on both Ljubljana and the wider international space with her theatre and film roles. She has created numerous unforgettable theatre and film roles, with which she has forever anchored herself in our hearts and memories. In addition to her unique acting career, she has also been active in numerous other areas, and has tackled everything with great responsibility, passion and incredible energy. We are proud that she is now also an Honorary Citizen of Ljubljana.

Honorary Citizen Professor Emeritus Dr. Danilo Türk

In his extraordinary career, Dr. Danilo Türk has, among other things, paved Slovenia’s way into global diplomacy. He was the first Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the United Nations, chaired the UN Security Council and was Assistant Secretary-General of this organization. He was President of Slovenia for five years. He is Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana, but he is also active in other areas of life. We are proud that he is now also an Honorary Citizen of Ljubljana.
