• 10th June in Ljubljana festival

    From 8 to 21 June, the already 10th June in Ljubljana festival is taking place at Congress Square featuring numerous admission-free superior artistic creations in the field of dance, theatre and music. Morning and afternoon events are dedicated to children, and evenings to top artistic events.

  • EU Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards 2018 for Plečnik House

    The winners of the 2018 EU Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards, Europe’s top honour in the field, were announced today by the European Commission and Europa Nostra, the leading European heritage network. The 29 laureates from 17 countries have been recognised for their impressive accomplishments in conservation, research, dedicated service, and education, training and awareness-raising. Among this year’s winners is the Plečnik House.

  • New kindergarten opened in Kašelj

    On 9 May, City Holiday, the Pedenjped kindergarten opened its new unit Pedenjcarstvo distinguished by its spatial design. The special feature of the unit is its department for children with disorders on the autistic spectrum.

    On 9 May, Ljubljana City Holiday, the renovated Mirje Pharmacy, one of the oldest pharmacies in the city, opened its doors. This precious gem in our cultural heritage returned to its former glory thanks to the Ljubljana Pharmacy.

    The culmination of the celebrations on 9 May, the Ljubljana City Holiday, was the Gala Session of the City Council of the City of Ljubljana where Mayor Zoran Janković presented the highest recognitions of the City of Ljubljana.

    The electric tourist train Urban is again driving through Ljubljana. The environment friendly vehicle without harmful emissions operates on a circular route with 10 stations. According to the train’s timetable the first ride starts every day at 9.30 and the last one at 20.00.
