Ljubljana received the title of Climate-Neutral and Smart City
The European Commission has officially announced that Ljubljana has received the title Climate Neutral and Smart City. With this, we have officially started the path to decarbonisation. The ceremonial presentation of the title will take place on 22 October 2024 in the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

Over 15 thousand runners at the Ljubljana Marathon
On Sunday, 20 October 2024, Ljubljana will be marked by the NLB Ljubljana Marathon. As many as 15,267 male and female runners are registered, taking routes with distances of 10, 21 and 42 kilometres.

Maintenance of the castle slope for greater safety of people and buildings below it
In the City of Ljubljana, we are preparing for the maintenance work on the castle slope with various emergency measures, which will significantly contribute to strengthening the protective role of the forest. Together with the representatives of several professional organizations, after many years of coordination and careful consideration, we chose the most appropriate solution with the aim of ensuring the safety of the residents of the buildings on the Town Square and Old Square, walkers and visitors to the forest, and the long-term stability of the forest on Castle Hill.

Ljubljana is once again a youth-friendly municipality
The City of Ljubljana once again received the Youth Friendly Municipality certificate for the period 2024-2028. The certificate is awarded by the Institute for Youth Policy in cooperation with the Ministry of Education (Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Youth) and the Community of Municipalities of Slovenia.

Kinodvor rounds off anniversary celebrations
The city cinema Kinodvor concludes the celebration of three important anniversaries, which were marked in 2023: the centenary of the cinema on Kolodvorska, the twentieth anniversary of the art cinema and the fifteenth anniversary of the Public Institute Kinodvor. This symbolically important year for film culture in the city was marked with a series of events that raised awareness of the significance and role of the city cinema as an urban cultural, creative and social centre.
