From 10 to 12 October 2025, the closing events of the 36th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts: Oracle took place.

9,000 artists from 122 countries over seven decades

Since 1955, the Biennale has positioned Ljubljana and Slovenian art within the global art scene and has significantly contributed to the international discourse in the field of printmaking and contemporary art. Over seven decades, works by approximately 9,000 artists from 122 countries have been presented. In 2001, the Biennale introduced the commissioning of new artworks, marking an important shift from national selections to a curated exhibition format. Since then, 245 new works have been created, and this year’s edition consists almost entirely of new productions. During this period, 30 curators and 53 exhibition venues have participated, further confirming the Biennale as a space for experimentation, critical reflection and inter-institutional collaboration.
