Only a validated ticket is a valid ticket
The Ljubljana passenger transport company Ljubljanski potniški promet emphasises how important it is to validate your ticket every time you board a bus. This is crucial both in terms of passenger insurance and efficient planning of transport capacity.
LPP would like to remind passengers once again how important it is to validate their ticket every time they board a bus. First of all, for safety reasons – passengers who do not validate their ticket are not insured in the event of a traffic accident or other unforeseen event. Even though they have their ticket on them, it is not valid without validation.
In addition to safety, validation is also important from a public transport planning perspective. Only with the help of the collected data can we accurately monitor the utilisation of the individual lines and adjust the number of buses where necessary. Recently, we have noticed that despite increasing numbers of users, more than 15% of passengers do not validate their tickets. Such boardings without ticket validation distort the data and can lead to an incorrect distribution of vehicles, resulting in congestion on certain routes that could otherwise be avoided.
Passengers are urged to validate their ticket every time they board a bus – regardless of the type of ticket (monthly, annual, single journey, free ride). Even if the ticket has been purchased or acquired (pensioners), transportation will not be paid for if the passenger does not validate the ticket.
If the percentage of validations does not increase, we will be forced to abolish the possibility of boarding at the other doors of the bus and once again allow boarding only at the first door, where it is easier to check.
