The regular annual maintenance of the swimming pools at the Ilirija Sports Centre will begin on Sunday, 31 August 2025, and is expected to take ten days.

The regular maintenance will be carried out by the Public Institute Sport Ljubljana in accordance with legal regulations requiring annual servicing of swimming pools.

The swimming pools will remain open until 22:00 on Saturday, 30 August. According to the planned schedule, they will reopen to users on Tuesday, 9 September, at 6:00. In the meantime, swimming training sessions under the City of Ljubljana’s Annual Sports Programme will be held at the Kodeljevo Swimming Pool Complex.
The Olympic pool holds 2,750 m³ of water, while the 25-metre pool holds 1,200 m³. The Ljubljana Fire Brigade will assist with pumping out the water, reducing the emptying time by approximately 10 hours. They will also help fill the pools using water from the hydrant network.

Once filled, both pools will be heated to the required temperature of 26°C within 72 hours (43 hours for the large pool and 29 hours for the smaller one).
