HORUS for Snaga

The public company Snaga received the HORUS 2015 Award in the big company category for its activities in the area of social responsibility.

The HORUS Award is an attestation of comprehensive thinking, innovation in business operation and corporate responsibility of the public company Snaga, evidenced also in the campaigns »Raise your voice against food waste« and »Get used to reuse«.

The HORUS Award is presented by IRDO – Institute for the Development of Social Responsibility, SPIRIT Slovenia, public agency, and PRSS – Slovenian Association for Public Relations, and the honorary patron of the award if the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor. Snaga is convinced it is good and right for a company to take responsibility for the society, the environment and the employees.

In addition to the HORUS Award, this is reaffirmed by the recently acquired standard ISO 14001 and the "LGBT friendly" certificate. The ISO 14001 standard is one of most important tools used by organisations all over the world as a response to the environmental challenges of their activities. With the acquisition of the standard Snaga confirmed that it is fulfilling legislative requirements, enforcing resource efficiency and actively preventing environmental pollution. Snaga supports equality and the guarantee of fundamental human rights. Thus it took part in a training course and facilitated inter-company transfer of knowledge on difficulties and discrimination of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. For this reason the City of Ljubljana awarded the company with the "LGBT friendly" certificate.
