2009 netko award

The City of Ljubljana website has received the 2009 Netko Award for the best digital project in the category of "Institution Presentation in the Area of State and Public Bodies and Communities". The Netko Award has been awarded annually by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia – IT Association of Slovenia.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia – IT Association of Slovenia, the Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Entrepreneurship and Foreign Investments (JAPTI) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology – Directorate for the Information Society have gathered on 28 October 2009 at the Chamber of Commerce of Slovenia to give out the 2009 Netko Awards. The Netko Award represents an institutional initiative promoting best online practice and web space quality increase intertwining web service and business.

This year 151 website projects participated, which is the highest number since 1999, when they gave out the first Netko Awards.

The "Institution Presentation in the Area of State and Public Bodies and Communities" category finalists for 2009 were the websites of the Human Rights Ombudsman, the Žale company and the City of Ljubljana.

The Award was received by the City of Ljubljana website by the Innovatif Company and followed by the committee explaining: "Anything but trivial assignment of presenting the activity of a complex mechanism of city management is upgraded with operating inclusion of public, transparency and responsibilities introduced by the city".

The 2009 Netko Award was accepted on 28 October 2009 by the website editor of the City of Ljubljana, Alenka Rebec, the technical editor of the website, Bojana Horvat and the representatives of the Innovatif company at the award ceremony at Chamber of Commerce of Slovenia.
