This year, the Biennial's main exhibition, set up in several galleries in Ljubljana under the title of The Matrix: An Unstable Reality, will explore the relation between contemporary graphic art and new technologies.

A number of accompanying exhibitions and other events will take place at various venues across the city. The Artist's Book Salon will showcase artists' books published by independent publishers and individual artists. One of the exhibitions traditionally features work by the previous Ljubljana Biennial Grand Prize winner, but this year, on the initiative of the 2007 winner, the South Korean artist Jeon Joonho, it will bring together works by several contemporary South Korean artists.
