The 8th Overflight theatre festival, taking place from 22 to 29 May 2014, is organized by the Mladinsko Theatre and the Glej Theatre in collaboration with the City of Ljubljana as the host of the ICORN General Assembly.

This year the festival presents sixteen theatre productions (with English subtitles) and numerous accompanying events. Ljubljana will host the festival and the ICORN (International Cities of Refuge Network) General Assembly simultaneously.

"This year's Overflight, the 8th theatre festival, which is organised in collaboration with the colleagues from the Glej Theatre, will be particularly solemn. It will take place at the time of the ICORN assembly – the association of cities, among them our host, dedicated to provide refuge to writers, journalists and other intellectuals, whose countries endanger their lives due to the nature of their work. Different, but interconnected cities offer them a safe haven to live and create. The Mladinsko Theatre will open the Overflight Festival on 22 May 2014 with the premiere of Hell Is Empty, a production by Marko Mlačnik. We are glad to invite those attending the ICORN General Assembly. Creativity and social criticism can be fatal for an individual in non-democratic societies, as well as the democratic ones, merely the means are more subtle. It is often the artists that are degraded, stripped of their dignity and criticised as individuals. The productions of the Mladinsko Theatre at this year's Overflight tell this tale each on its own." Not only, because is the third consecutive collaboration between the Mladinsko Theatre and the Glej Theatre, but due to the true international dimensions it gained this year. Both events not only share the time of activities with the Overflight, but also decisively form its programme.
