“a to b: ljubljana” mobile application
During the European Mobility Week, the Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region (RRA LUR) introduced a new mobile application “A do B: Ljubljana”. The app provides detailed information on transportation between two selected points in Ljubljana.
Each one of us has at some point wondered how to reach the other side of the city in the least time possible or contemplated the most efficient path from point A to point B. By wanting to travel in a sustainable way, we come across a challenge that was successfully solved by Sabina Bakula, Urška Kadunc, Urša Kisovec, Anja Kozlan and Sebastian Žetko. The solution in the form of a mobile application was conceptualised under the supervision of Petra Černe Oven and Barbara Predan on the »Designing an Agenda, or, How to Avoid Solving Problems That Aren’t« service and information design creative camp organised by the Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region (RRA LUR) and Pekinpah Association in the framework of the European Union’s CCAlps project.
The solution unites three types of sustainable public transportation in the city of Ljubljana: the bicycle (BicikeLJ cycle hire), the bus (Ljubljana City Public Transport) and walking. It is one of the first incorporations of the bicycle as a sustainable public transportation into an application of a European city and it is an important addition to the comprehensive user service.
The “A to B: Ljubljana” app supports the “iOS” operational system and is available on “iTunes”.
