Afe-innovnet Meeting

A meeting of the AFE-INNOVNET's project partners was held from 5 to 6 March 2015 in Brussels which was also attended by a representative of the City of Ljubljana.

The City of Ljubljana participates in the AFE-INNOVNET Thematic Network in the field of innovation for age-friendly environments, which is co-financed by the European Union. The project partners meet at the consortium meetings and workshops where individual cities and regions present activities carried out for the elderly and exchange examples of good practice. At the first consortium meeting in Brussels, which took place in May last year, we presented the activities and programmes for the elderly in the City of Ljubljana. The following presentation – on home assistance service – will take place at a workshop in Udine, Italy at the end of this month.

At the consortium meeting of partners in the Thematic Network were presented the current activities of the project with the main objective of integration of local and regional authorities and other stakeholders (the industry, research centres, universities, non-government organisations) in the creation of age-friendly environments in Europe. Currently, the Thematic Network includes over 250 members (of which 37 cities and 24 regions).

Activities were also presented by the representative of Tallinn, Estonia, the representative of Eurofound (The European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions) and the representative of the European Social Network.
