On Monday, 19 may 2014, Mayor Zoran Janković hosted the Ambassador of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Mr Hussam Abdullah Ghodayeh Al Husseini, and the Honorary Consul General of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Slovenia, Mr Samir Amarin, at the City Hall.

Jordan and Slovenia maintain traditionally good friendship and regular political contact. The absence of residential embassy is partially compensated by the two active honorary consuls. Both countries work well together at multilateral forums, most effectively within the Human Security Network (HSN).

Both the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr Issa Haider Murad in Aman, and the Honorary Consul General of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Mr Samir Amarin in Ljubljana, are active since 2001.
