From Thursday 1 July to Sunday 4 July the centre of Ljubljana is to be the venue of the Ana Desetnica international festival of street theatre.
The Ana Desetnica international festival of street theatre, organised by the Ana Monro Theatre, takes place annually in Ljubljana, Maribor, Kamnik, Šoštanj, Celje and elsewhere, attracting numerous spectators to its performances by street artists from all around the world, and this year will once again enrich the summer calendar.
The Ana Desetnica Festival has run in Ljubljana on the first weekend in July for more than a decade. The four festival days, at various venues around the city centre and its outskirts offer a rich selection of domestic and foreign street productions.
In Ljubljana alone the festival attracts up to 30,000 spectators, and twice this number attend the festival as a whole in all of the towns and cities. In the twelve years the festival has been held it has welcomed more than a quarter of a million attendees, a huge figure for a specialist theatre festival.
