Annual forum of the global knowledge economy network
The City of Ljubljana will host the Knowledge Economy Network (KEN) Annual Forum on 25 and 26 November, 2014.
There are 74 participants from 16 countries registered, and many exceptional speakers from Canada, UK, Germany, India, and Australia.
KEN network is a non-profit organisation registered in 2011 in Brussels, and it is bringing together knowledge actors from four domains of knowledge economy: education, R&D, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Our key values are: common sense, knowledge, innovation, sustainable development, ethics in business, and a balanced fair society.
Principle activities of the Network are aiming at facilitating productive dialogue among policy makers and stakeholders, sharing good practice, providing information and advise to its partners and members. This is achieved through conferences and workshops, publications (Monthly Bulletin, Weekly Briefs, Events updates, Country ranking, and Website), as well as annual Awards for exceptional performance in the above mentioned domains. KEN started as a network, now moves into the role of a Think Tank, and is expected to gradually develop into a knowledge economy movement.
The topic of the Ljubljana Forum is »Developing Knowledge Economy through Innovation Ecosystem – the Role of Innovation Hubs«. A KEN Task Force will present its Report on the project of Slovenian Innovation Hub. This is intended to link the fragmented research and innovation capablities in the country, intensify international collaboration, encourage more foreign investment, and upgrade knowledge-based competitiveness.
