Author boris pahor at city hall

On Tuesday, 26 August 2014 Mayor Zoran Janković hosted the internationally acclaimed author, Boris Pahor on his 101st birthday at the City Hall.

Author Boris Pahor signed the City of Ljubljana's Memorial Book on this occasion.

At the same time, the symposium "Tržaška Literarna Šola" (Literary School of Trieste) was taking place at the Great Meeting Hall at the City Hall. The event was organised by the Mladinska Knjiga publishing house with the Cankarjeva Založba publishing company and sponsored by the City of Ljubljana to celebrate Boris Pahor's jubilee and Alojz Rebula's 90 years of age.

The Slovenian literature in Trieste is rich and lasting. Some of the esteemed experts at the symposium described his path and part, shared a few words on Borut Pahor and Alojz Rebula, Srečko Kosovel and constructivism, comparisons with the Italian poetry of the time, the first Slovenian magazine for women and the female authors of Trieste, Vladimir Bartol, contemporary poets, the position of the Trieste literature in France and many other topics.
