Award for the CrossCare project

The project integrated approach to home care for the elderly (CrossCare), in which the City of Ljubljana also participated, received the annual award Best Municipal EU Project 2022.

The Minister for Regional Development and EU Funds of the Republic of Croatia, Nataša Tramišak, awarded the first prize to the city of Zagreb for the implementation of the mentioned project out of 37 submitted projects in the category Contribution to cross-border cooperation.

In addition to Zagreb, the City of Ljubljana, Home Care Institute Ljubljana (lead partner), Institution for Home Health Care Zagreb, Centre for Home Assistance Maribor, Health Centre Čakovec and many associated partners participated in the project.


About the project


The project's main aim was to increase the social inclusion of several groups of the elderly, reduce social inequality and improve the quality of life of the elderly.


During the implementation of the project from 1 September 2018 to 30 August 2020, project partners provided users with free-of-charge physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics and nursing services. Since the completion of the project, the Home Care Institute Ljubljana, financially supported by the City of Ljubljana, continues to offer free-of-charge physiotherapy, occupational therapy and nursing services at home. The City of Zagreb also continues to finance project activities in the field of occupational therapy, and the Centre for Home Assistance Maribor still provides services in the field of physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
