Mayor of Ljubljana Zoran Janković received the award of European Movement in BiH for the best European Mayor in the Region 2014.

The award was presented by Predrag Praštalo, president of the European Movement in BiH.

The grounds for awarding the Mayor Zoran Janković state he was, inter alia, decorated for his visionary work and ideas that extend beyond the boundaries of local communities and the state as well as for his great respect for culture, tradition, religious beliefs and diversity of an individual. During his mayoralty, Ljubljana consolidated its position as an orderly, modern European metropolis. The explanatory statement also points out that the Mayor is a great supporter of the EU integration process and proposes the direct admission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the European Community as a solution.
