Bobri 2015
From 24 January until 8 February 2014 Ljubljana is hosting the 7th Festival of Culture and Art Education, Bobri.
This year’s programme includes 185 events (63 theatrical, dance and musical performances, 14 films and 108 workshops) and more than 16 thousand free tickets were distributed.
The Bobri Festival includes participation of 62 cultural institutes and groups from Ljubljana and the events take place at 54 stages across the capital.
The year of 2015 commemorates the 150th anniversary of Maks Fabiani's birth, the architect, whose legacy left a mark on the urban plan of the modern Ljubljana. In this sense, architecture and design are the central themes of the Festival, and most workshops and events in museums, galleries and libraries will be focused on the two areas. Special emphasis will be put on these themes in institutes where theatrical, musical and dance performances and films will take place. The festival activities will be centralised around those which encourage children to create and participate in the event rather than those they passively observe.
The festival will end with a concert at the Kino Šiška Centre for Urban Culture on 8 February on a cultural holiday. This year's concluding concert will be something special as the performers and audience will be creating it together. How will that work should remain a secret.
