Bojanka Genorio was awarded for outstanding work in the field of social welfare

At the presentation of awards and recognitions for work in the field of social welfare and provision of foster care for 2022, the award for outstanding quality and professional work in the field of social welfare in the last five years was also awarded to the former director of Senior Citizens Home Fužine in Ljubljana, Bojanka Genorio.

Bojanka Genorio ran the Senior Citizens Home Fužine for as many as 16 years with high professionalism and a great deal of feeling for people. During this time, she established many beautiful ties with various stakeholders in the local community and opened the doors of the home wide to everyone eager to cooperate. In addition to all regular activities, she was always open to different additional projects that enriched the services at the home. One such project is undoubtedly the Activity Centre for the Elderly, which, with the City of Ljubljana's support, operates on the premises of the Senior Citizens Home Fužine and attracts many elderly citizens from near and far to the home.

Award also for the program Will always finds a way

The group award for employees or members of a legal entity, which has successfully operated in the field of social welfare for a long time in line with the code of ethical principles in social welfare and social welfare regulations and is well-recognized in the local environment, was awarded to the staff of the social welfare program Will always finds the way of the Association of Friends of Youth Ljubljana Moste-Polje, which is also supported by the City of Ljubljana through public tenders. The purpose of the program, which has been running since 2010, is to offer immediate comprehensive help and support to families in momentary or long-term distress. It was created as a response to the growing social hardships of families due to various life circumstances. They help families with financial, material and psychosocial assistance. They also give special care and attention to children, enabling them to participate in organized leisure activities. Various forms of assistance are available to families within the program: counselling and information, material assistance, financial aid, financial counselling, therapy, free legal aid and workshops.
