Prior to their departure for the 30th Olympic Games London 2012, Slovene Olympic and Paralympic athletes held a press conference at Ljubljana Castle on Friday 6 July 2012.

The games for athletes with disabilities, which take place at the same Olympic venues in London from 29 August to 9 September, will see participation from 22 Slovene athletes in six sports (athletics, table tennis, sitting volleyball, cycling, swimming and shooting), with a support staff of ten trainers and assistants, a doctor, two physiotherapists and a carer. The Slovenian Paralympic team is to be led by Ljubljana City Councillor and MP Roman Jakič.
