Challenges of intercultural coexistence

The atrium of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SAZU) hosted the interdepartmental discussion “Challenges of Intercultural Coexistence – Integration of Immigrants and Their Families in Slovenia” (Izzivi Medkulturnega Sobivanja – Vključevanje Priseljencev in Njihovih Družin v Sloveniji).

Representatives of local communities, government institutions, non-governmental organisations and educational institutions have participated in the discussion. They presented the existing good practice, current challenges and collaboration possibilities; connecting existing services and support mechanisms to guarantee a comprehensive support for successful integration of immigrants in Slovenia.

The City of Ljubljana has presented various examples of good practice in the area of culture, youth and social security at the discussion.

The event was organised within the “Interculturalism as a New Form of Coexistence” project, which is co-financed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports and the European Social Fund.
