City traffic warden service’s new electric vehicle

The Icar0, Green Go, an electric vehicle, distinguished by its simple construction and compact dimensions, is now used by City Traffic Wardens to provide their services in the inner city centre.

The electric vehicle is small, extremely agile and with its SePEX system (Energy Regeneration System) also environment-friendly.

The utilization of the eco-friendly transport means is in accordance with the sustainable development strategy and vision of Ljubljana by 2025, adopted by the city in 2007. Ljubljana thus commits itself to a sustainable and green development with the aim to provide its citizens a high quality of living in all areas of life.

The City Traffic Warden Service has been playing an active role in the fulfilment of the vision of a sustainable and green development of Ljubljana and for this reason the city traffic wardens have been performing their tasks riding bicycles since 2009. The experience has shown that they are more efficient in securing order and safety in Ljubljana while at the same time they set an example how to reduce city traffic and decrease CO2 emissions. It was also for this reason the City Traffic Warden Service was awarded as an example of “good practice” in 2013 in the scope of the Slovenia Reduces CO2 project.

By test rental of the Icar0, Green Go electric vehicle, the City Traffic Warden Service follows its mission in the scope of the Slovenia Reduces CO2 project and also forms a good example on the area of utilizing the electric vehicles in the City Traffic Warden Service operations as a foundation for further electrification of transport means.

By applying the electric vehicle for the execution of its tasks, the City Traffic Warden Service will undoubtedly contribute to a cleaner environment and the reduction of greenhouse gases which is one of the priorities stated in the traffic and environmental policy and vision of the sustainable development of the City of Ljubljana.
