The City of Ljubljana has started developing the Comprehensive Transport Strategy intended to offer Ljubljana’s residents and visitors even more high-quality, efficient and diverse modes of mobility while preserving the green, clean, accessible and all-around friendly character of the city.

It will be a strategic document for transport planning emphasising measures for the promotion of sustainable mobility in line with the economic and social development as well as the preservation of a high-quality environment. With this document we want to build upon the Transport Policy of the City of Ljubljana, adopted in 2012, which is based on the experiences of most progressive and environmentally conscious European cities. Its emphasis will be especially on including different target groups in the creation of a vision and measures according to the principles of sustainable mobility.
Ljubljana is tailored to the people and so we strive to focus our projects as much as possible on residents. Therefore their active cooperation in the formulation of the Comprehensive Transport Strategy will be of key importance, because they as pedestrians, cyclists, users of city buses and other modes of public transport or as drivers of motor vehicles encounter different traffic challenges on daily basis, and that is why their experiences can be a great contribution to finding better solutions.  For that reason we are going to organise numerous public discussions, also on the internet, diverse workshops and other activities in Ljubljana, all the way up to May 2017, hoping for high participation of individuals and active cooperation in form of proposals on how to improve mobility.
